Stained Glass Crazy
i started this quilt one day a few summers ago when my mother had called to tell me the bad news that she had to do another bunch of chemotherapy and radiation. even though i couldn't be with her at that moment, i felt closer to her while i worked on this.
my brother, Trevor had recently taken up stained glass as an artistic outlet, and as i was building these colour blocks larger and larger, i envisioned this as being like a fabric version of a stained glass window. the centre and outer corners were all peiced on an ancient featherweight singer from the early fifties which i had found at an antique shop... they actually had two, so i bought one for my mother, also. man those are good machines.
